My name is Vesa Metsä-Ketelä. I'm based in Ylöjärvi, Finland, and I'm interested in art and technology.

By day I work as an IT consultant working with Microsoft business apps in international projects as part of IT delivery teams.

I graduated from design studies in Bielefeld in 2015. Right now most of my personal projects go into visual art, AI, automations and custom web apps. I view myself as New Media Artist in the post digital world, combining both digital and analog signal.

Sound Is Spirit is where these projects come alive.

Sound Is Spirit project

The name of this site, Sound Is Spirit, stems from an artistic epiphany which I will explain a bit below.

Sound, in its essence, is an impression. It is an invisible medium capable of conveying a full message and a wide spectrum of expression. Something that moves through you before you've had time to think about it. It carries meaning, emotion, memory.

Here, 'sound' is more than the auditory. It lives in movement, in image, in the moments where things connect in ways language struggles to follow. In this site I will continue to explore these things.
