My name is Vesa Metsä-Ketelä. I'm based in Ylöjärvi, Finland, and I'm interested in art, technology, creative process, productivity and things like that.

By day I work as an IT consultant, helping organisations make sense of complex systems: business architecture, Microsoft Dynamics in international projects as part of IT delivery teams.

I graduated from design studies in Bielefeld in 2015. Then life took over the way it does, family, work, a house, a yard. The creation has continued in other forms than visual art. Right now most of my free time goes into personal AI projects: web builds, automations, experiments.

Sound Is Spirit is where these projects come alive, and I am also looking forward to creating new visual art.

Sound Is Spirit project

The name of this site, Sound Is Spirit, stems from an artistic epiphany which I will explain a bit below.

Sound, in its essence, is an impression. It is an invisible medium capable of conveying a full message and a wide spectrum of expression. Something that moves through you before you've had time to think about it. It carries meaning, emotion, memory.

Here, 'sound' is more than the auditory. It lives in movement, in image, in the moments where things connect in ways language struggles to follow. In this site I will continue to explore these things.
